Sunpeak Construction was retained by Sherwin Williams Paint Factory to work with GSI Environmental and build a Water Treatment Plant at their manufacturing facility in San Diego.
Project consisted of demolition & excavation of existing parking lot, trenching for underground piping and Jensen Precast Concrete Reservoir with sump pump, heavy thick concrete 4,000 psi Mat Slab, and above-ground tanks with pumps and filtration system.
All rainwater gets collected in various catch basins and gravity flow into an underground reservoir with a sump pump that would pump industrial water into a big attenuation steel tank above ground and then pumped into a mixing tank manufactured by Snyder Industries where polymers are added to adsorb to particulates and then transferred into a settling tank with 3 compartments. The particulates would settle to the bottom and clean water would be pumped into Media Vessels manufactured by Pure Effect that contain activated carbon and fine filters that would collect any remaining particulates in water. Eventually, clean filtered water is discharged and gravity flows into a catch basin connected to storm drains. Sunpeak Construction complied with all 1466 AQMD Rules & Regulations and SWPPP such as providing dust monitoring during the excavation and trenching, installing Straw Wattle around storm drains for Best Management Practices, and temporary water to control fugitive dust during digging, loading, and hauling operations. All excavated areas were protected with barricades per OSHA Standards and then property backfilled for safety.
Nick Azartash, President of Sunpeak Construction believes that all manufacturing plants in California eventually will have some sort of Storm Water Treatment operations in the factory grounds to prevent polluted water from running into storm drains and ocean so we can keep our environment clean, healthy & safe. Sunpeak looks forward to team up with environmental firms & help clean our environment and make it safer. Sunpeak Construction has all the right expertise, credentials, training, experience, and manpower to perform such projects.
